The company is managed by John McTaggart, a former PT Curriculum with a teaching career steeped in Modern Studies curriculum development.

Modernityscotland has grown to become a popular, independent presence in Scottish education.

We have expanded to provide a wide range of resources and recently moved to new premises in Aberdour, Fife.

The website

The website takes the form of a series of articles.

These are based on the Study Themes of Higher Modern Studies.

Many of these articles have embedded video clips and hyper links to other, relevant, sources of information.

There are pupil activities at the end of each article to reinforce knowledge.

There is also advice on exam technique to put pupils and parents in the picture of how to maximise attainment.

Model Answers are on the site too.

Our motto is "complete control".

We hope that our holistic approach to providing resources and knowledge gives teachers, pupils and parents complete control over the Higher Modern Studies course.

Text books

Modern UK Politics was launched by John McTaggart, with former First Minister Jack McConnell, at the Scottish Parliament in January 2008.

The book has now sold over 5,000 copies.

Modern UK Social Issues is published in October 2008.

DVD

In association with Red Squirrel Productions, Modernityscotland has just completed its first DVD, "Wealth and Health Inequalities in Glasgow".

The film will be launched a special screening for subscribers at the Edinburgh Filmhouse Cinema on Friday October 31 2008.

Powerpoints

Subscribers with an Enhanced Subscription receive nine power point presentations each year.

All have teacher notes.

Many have embedded viedo links and hyperlinks to other, relevant, websites.

These are refreshed each year of the Enhanced subscription.
